Ulcers are areas of interruption in skin continuity. These may be of various sizes and depth. They are dependent on the causative factors.

If the ulcers are infected then they require treatment with antibiotics as well as regular surgical or otherwise cleaning the wounds. Very large ulcers may require plastic surgical procedures for skin closure.
